So....have you got your tickets? Wellies..check! Tent...Check! Fabulous denim shorts...Check! you my girl, are ready to go!

I Looooove this season. Everyone is so excited about festivals and sun and making the most out of this seasons fabulous trends and to be honest I am totally there too! My festival of choice has always been Reading but this year I am giving V-Festival a try. I know it is a little bit more 'Poppy' and 'Trendy' than the muck at Reading but I absolutely cannot wait!

It's funny how festivals have changed isn't it? I mean, there are soooooo many to pick from now. I am still waiting for the day when I can go to Glastonbury but me and ticket deadlines do not seem to be a perfect match. I wish the days were back when you were able to scale the wall with your belongings, land in the mud on the other side and then pitch up! Or to be at woodstock.....how amazing! Check this image out below and see if you could cope in those tents!

No I hear you say....te he he!

There is also another festival that I feel should be on your check list for this summer, it comes in the form of VINTAGE @ GOODWOOD! Tickets are available from www.vintageatgoodwood.com and you will be in for a treat! Seriously, there is something for everyone and you will not be disappointed!

Next year I am going to save my pennies and try and go to Coachella...A festival in the midst of the desert...who would have thought it! If I don my sunnies, sulk and skulk about a bit they might mistake me for a A-Lister!

Festival Clobber...Hmmm....my choice always tends to be pretty similar. I need shorts, Vintage under the knee boots with over the knee socks and lovely loose fitting top (no sweating....you are there all day!) with brightly coloured bikini top/bra, retro sunnies and the possibilty of a hat. This year I have been debating on a Maxi....not too sure? Comments would be appreciated! Im getting stuck in the 'will it/won't it' rain department, thus, makes dressing decisions alot harder! I am hoping to take lots of images over the summer of fabulous looking people and have a Festival Gallery page coming soon so shout at me if you are going to be there and I'll keep an eye out!

Closer to home, Notting Hill carnival is a big MUST if you are anywhere near West London. Fabulous music, food and people and it has no pricey ticket fee! Seriously, if you have never been and are not sure, just do it! I took my partner with me for the first time last year and he has now been wondering what he's been missing out on all these years! It was an eye opener!

Anyway, enough on Festivals now. I want to share my fabulous brother & his Mini with you all. Firstly I have to say Congratulations on the birth of Lillian Kate. I am a proud Auntie and my brother Jack and his gorgeous fiance Natalia are now proud parents. She is a beautiful bubba, takes after her Auntie! A week after the birth we hit the road and drove up to Knebworth for a MINI & VW Car Convention. What a fab day! Full of gorgeous cars and camper vans and indeed a lovely day out. There's a couple of snaps for you to ponder at the bottom of this page...

See you soon my Lovelies!

So, London is having its first rays! I don't know about you lovely people but I am extremely happy...get out my sunnies, pedicure done, floral skirt on and hair tied up in a ribbon, sorted! Or is it? This does not happen to be the 50's any more and like most people, summer holidays are looming for me. I can no longer take my gorgeous all in one out of the closet and slap a floral swimming hat on, well I can, but then I would be the only glamour puss on the beach! I don't want my beauties to turn on me now do I!

No no, this is more serious than that. I am dreading the removal of the bikini bag from the wardrobe and the 'trying on' sessions that are then followed by self loathing, hatred of all carbohydrates and the conclusion that 'one more bowl of pasta won't hurt'. To avoid all this fuss this year, I have joined a gym. Much to my dislike and the fact that it cuts in to 'Ethel' time and soap watching, I now have 3 months to tone up and get out there with the best of them! Tally Ho, off I go!

I am however looking forward to trying out my new playsuit. Purchased at the end of last summer from Camden Lock Stables I have been saving it for the nice weather. Think little ankle socks and white pumps, hair up with big black sunnies....ooohhh I'm getting excited thinking about it!

It has a fab hawaiian theme to it in white and an assortment of other colours.

Really, camden Market is the perfect place for picking up quirky one off pieces. The vibe of the whole market has somewhat changed since it has been re-furbished inside (anyone that goes there will know what I mean) but DEFINATELY worth a visit if you are heading into London. I can definately see this with a tight skinny leather belt around the waist.

Along with this, Maxi dresses are still big this year and there are som fab floral designs around at the moment. The chain River Island have a couple of fab plain maxi dresses that will be perfect for a variety of this seasons trends such as cork heels, studs, oversized accessories and the 'never going out of fashion' gladiator sandal.

Also.....the gallery is now up! Please browse, please buy, please keep Ethel on her travels! As mentioned before, the site is continuosly undergoing tweaks and twiddles so please be patient and email me if you have any comments.

Love you all my beauties....see you all on brighton beach, I'll be the one draped next to cocktail bar!

So, Its been a few days, but i'm back. I'm telling you, Ethel is a busy busy lady! Sorting through the trunk today I have found some pieces that I will be adding to my gallery, which by the way, will be appearing VERY shortly! Dresses, bags, accessories....they are all on their way!

Also, my first hand made piece (if I tell you what it is right now I would have to kill you!) is coming! I'm pretty excited about it and hope you will be too. It has taken me a while to find the perfect fabric but I think I have got it right eventually! Still, you my luvlies will have to be the judge on that!

Anyway, it's Saturday night, grab your Martini and keep your excitement at bay!

5th March 2010

So where do I start today? I know, it's with a banging head (far too much fizzy pop) but with the added excitement of having some fantasticular new toys!

This is my first toy! 1950's Teak Cocktail Cabinet with DISCO BALL (Yeah!) spinning centre!

I purchased this back in November from the welsh air ambulance chariy shop in Pontypridd, South Wales. My kind parents have been storing it for me (due to lack of space) and now it is home where it belongs! I'm going to spend today filling it with lots of goodies!

This is my 2nd toy! Raleigh chopper mark 3!

Not completely vintage as this is the re-made model and not the original 1960's version but all the same, I'm pretty pleased! With a little bit of work and some re-spraying, I'll have it looking as good as new. It's a perfectly sunny day outside right now so as soon as the headache fades I might show the kids in the park my new toy, oh how jealous they will be!

Catch ya later kids!

And so the blogging begins! You will have to bear with me as I am new to all of this (you know, I couldn't pull a laptop out of the trunk could I!) but I will learn!

Drove to manchester today, unfortunately I didn't have time to browse around but defo on the next visit. There is a shop called St Lukes Interiors which resides in the town of Winsford, Cheshire which is highly desirable! Maybe a girly weekend needs planning and then a little rummaging for me! Wink
